Uncover your inner path

Returning Home

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all getting  to enjoy the longer brighter days as we emerge from under the blanket of winter. Seeing the first Snowdrops, or the cheerful yellow colour of the  Daffodils lifts our hearts and our spirit !! Birdsong fills the air heralding that spring has truly arrived.

The cycle of  seasons are an inevitable part of life and can be a source of comfort in our ever changing world. It reminds us that when  faced with stress or navigating  turbulent  times in  our lives we can take comfort in knowing that this too shall pass. .

Nearly 20 years ago when I was going through a particularly difficult time in my life, I went and experienced a Reiki treatment for the first time .I often describe it as, like coming home, home to myself. And since that day I have never looked back and have gone on to teach people how to live from the space of the heart through Reiki or meditation.

Western science recently found evidence to support that the heart has its own central nervous system, with more neurons than the brain finally confirming that it is not under the rule of the brain. Spiritual teachers have always pointed to the heart as the source of our connection to a consciousness greater than the ego. Living life from the heart takes a bit of practise and in the beginning when we are learning our heart may feel tender and vulnerable, which simply means that it needs our loving attention as we cleanse and heal past hurts and blockages. This process asks us to become aware of some of the heart’s greatest lessons – our ability to love and approve of ourselves, compassion for ourselves and others and lastly our ability to be open to receive love.

Eventually you will be able to do this any time, any place, but at first it may help to try it in a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed. Simply sit with your eyes closed and draw your attention and breath into your heart. As your breath expands your chest cavity your heart expands and opens. You may feel tenderness or sadness in your heart or you may feel relief or joy. Any emotions that arise can be effectively witnessed and healed through this meditation process, benefiting both your physical and emotional well-being. With practise and guidance, approaching life with an open heart becomes as effortless as a bird returning to the nest, returning to our true home, or true selves.

I have included a free video Here to help you get started with your practise of going in.
